McFarland Family Values
Senate candidate KT McFarland’s dad has his say – and a bit more – in today’s NY Post.
Augie Troia angrily denied he ever abused his daughter, refuting the claims KT made. But his denials might have been a bit more believable if he didn’t get testy with the reporter – Kenneth Lovett – who traveled to Madison, Wis. to get his side of the story.
“You better get out of here or they’re going to carry you out of here,” Augie Troia, said, according to the newspaper.
In response to the story, McFarland’s campaign has issued a statement saying it’s “time to move on.”
Meanwhile, rival candidate John Spencer has finally tapped a big name, former presidential candidate Steve Forbes, to help him raise money before the July 15 FEC filing. Forbes, Spencer’s national finance chairman, raised the issue of Hillary Clinton’s status as a presidential contender, in his e-mail appeal for money.
“As I am sure you have heard, poll after poll shows that left-wing Senator Hillary Clinton will almost certainly be the Democratic nominee for President in 2008,” Forbes said. “What you may not have yet heard is that conservative Republican and former Mayor of Yonkers, John Spencer, is making tremendous progress toward defeating Senator Clinton in her U.S. Senate race this year—before she can launch her plan to become President.”
The July 15 filing will be a critical measuring stick for both Spencer and McFarland, indicating which campaign is in the best shape to take on Clinton. But whatever they report, their fundraising totals are all but certain to be dwarfed by Clinton’s.

let’s talk republican strategy to keep
mrs clinton out of the white house.
1. clinton wants to demonstrate she is able to attract rural votes and will argue that should she be wildly successful in upstate ny it will be an
indication of her ability to win red states in a presidential race
2.new york is the bluest of blue states
pro life national republican philosophy
candidates cannot get elected period
3. mrs clinton has attempted to have it
both ways, she criticizes the bush
iraq policy but won;t say the magic words “If i knew then what i know now
i would not have authorized the president to invade Iraq.
4.the only way to insure that mrs
clinton is not the dem nominee and
does not become the next president
is for the republican candidate for
the senate IN NEW YORK to
a. say the magic words
b. critize the deficit from a conservative milton friedman perspective
c. criticize the neo con movement which
has had its way with the vp
d. say that in time of war tax cutting
is a lousy idea
e. agree to a specific timetable to
withdraw from iraq
results…disaffected dems vote for the
republican maybe 30% or more of them
ind support the republican who is pro
choice…and guess what the base republican vote stays because they
hate clinton…so notwithstanding the
outcry from conservatives…clinton
doensnt win the general by more than
58% and can;t claim she is a viable
presidential candidate…i know
for some republicans it is a hard pill
to swallow but a clinton presidency is
even worse
