Spencer on Kerry: “Appalled”

Posted by: Glenn Blain - Posted in Uncategorized on Oct 31, 2006

Add John Spencer to the list of Republicans who are demanding an apology from Democrat John Kerry because of his “get stuck in Iraq” comment today.

Spencer, who served in the Army during the Vietnam War, issued this statement:

“John Kerry owes the U.S. Military an apology.  As a veteran, who left college and volunteered to serve in Vietnam, I am appalled by his remarks.  Senator Kerry doesn’t seem to understand that our all-volunteer military is filled with the best and the brightest that our nation has to offer. They are young men and women who believe in freedom and in defending the values our nation stands for.  Senator Kerry needs to apologize immediately and, while he’s at it, he should apologize for the way he attacked our military when he returned from Vietnam. I call on Senator Clinton to join with me in condemning his outrageous remarks.”
