More than a dollar short

John Spencer’s campaign remains cash-poor in the final stretch, according to a copy of the “pre-general” FEC report filed by his campaign and provided by staff this week to the Journal News.

Spencer raised $433,222 between Oct. 1 and 18, but spent more than that, leaving him with just $342,644 on hand as of the filing date. He also listed $247,675 in debts and obligations.

Hillary Clinton’s campaign arm, “Friends of Hillary,” also spent more than it raised ($817,178 taken in, $1.1 million laid out) but ended the period with $13.9 million on hand. The campaign was carrying $906,116 in debts and obligations.

Over the entire span of the campaign, Spencer has raised $5.1 million to Clinton’s $48.5 million.
