Hall declares victory

November
8

Democrat John Hall, leading in the 19th Congressional District, has declared victory, though incumbent Sue Kelly has yet to concede and, according to staff, will not make a statement until morning.

Addressing supporters at the Colonial Terrace in Cortlandt shortly before midnight, Hall said: “We couldn’t have won without hundreds of union members. This is people power. Individual contributions have won out over $2 million. Truth has won out over lies. And now we’re on the move, and we mean to take our country back.

Story to follow on lohud.com.

Here’s the last figures of the evening before I call it a night; Hall continues to lead by about 4,000 votes, with, I’m told by a colleague, the bulk of his win coming from Westchester:

605 of 626 precincts – 97 percent
Sue W. Kelly, GOP (i) 86,491 – 49 percent
John Hall, Dem 90,019 – 51 percent
