Mr. Hall goes to Washington

John Hall, a Democrat presumed to have won the 19th District Congressional seat from six-term Republican incumbent Sue Kelly, is attending the freshman orientation program for new members this week in Washington, D.C.
Kelly of Katonah has not conceded and awaits the results of a recanvass of voting machines and the count of absentee and other paper ballots.
Hall, an environmental activist since the 1970s, took the train to Washington. Darren Rigger, a veteran Democratic staffer and consultant who was one of Hall’s opponents in the Democratic primary, accompanied Hall and is serving as an aide.
In Washington this week, Hall will meet with many of his new colleagues and start setting up a new office in the capital.

John Hall is perhaps the most underqualified and least knowledgable legislator ever sent to Washington and I am ashmed that he is my congressman. He served TWO terms on a SHOOLBOARD and ONE term as a COUNTY LEGISLATOR. Sue Kelly was in congess for 12 YEARS. Second of all, his policies are ridiculous. His plan for Iraq is to “give up decisionmaking power to the U.N.” This is from his website. The U.N. has been inefectual since its inception and it is simply a facade of progress and in reality is nothing more than the epitome of backwardness and its plan for every situation is appeasement. He should be ashamed that his plan is to give power to the organization that just allowed China, Cuba, and SUDAN on the Human Rights Committee. Yes Sudan, the perpetrators of the Darfur genocide. The U.N. is the reason for the current situation. They pass resolutions (1441) that are completely ignored. The U.N. pulled their people out of Iraq before the invasion. Clearly they want no part in Iraq because they would much rather appease the islamic facists than take any real action. Multilateralism does not work. The only way anything gets done is unilateraly. It is sad the John Hall gets his policy from the editorial page of the New York Times. In an interview with News 12, he said that Sue Kelly’s statement that “most of Iraq is passified” “flys in the face of reality.” Buzz. Wrongo John. In September 2006, 15 out of the 18 Iraqi provinces has no coalition casualties. John Hall’s policy flies in the face of the reality on the ground. His policy goes against what the commanders, WHO ARE ACTUALLY IN IRAQ suggest. But all fo the sudden a mucision becomes a general. His policy is so misguided it is tragic. He obviously does not understand the risk posed by these people who want to annhialate us. I suggest that he and you all watch Obsession: Radical Islam’s War Against the West. It is just clips of radical Islamic leaders preaching their hateful propoganda to crowds of thousands who are all screaming “Death to America. Death to Israel. Death to the U.K….” It is sickening. But i’m sure he is to busy watching Farenheit 9/11 to get ready for his first session. On heathcare, again, wrong. He beleives in heathcare for all. Look at Canada and the U.K. where it takes YEARS to get any procedure done. Recently, congress passed legislation giving all Americans the right to emergency care. That has completely failed. Read the series in the New England Journal of Medicine about the system. Many hospitals have completely shut down their emergency depatments. More ambulances are being divereted because the departments are so crowded NO ONE CAN GET TREATMENT. Also, more doctors than ever are going into research instead of primary care because of the policies of people like John Hall. On Social Security, wrong. On his website he calls social security, “a time tested successs.” Nope. Social Security has been perverted to an insurance policy for all and therefore its funds are being rapidly depleted. Look. I don’t want the government handling my future. Because in the words of the great Ronald Reagan “Government is not the solution to our problems, government is the problem.” John Halls policies will completely destroy the system. It needs to be privatized so that people can manage their own HARD EARNED MONEY not the government which will undoubtedly fail them. John Hall also wants to fix our system of checks and balances which has “totally collapsed.” Honestly, in a time of war which we are in now, I do not want beurocrats like John Hall getting in the way which they will undoubtebly do. Our system has totaly collapsed BECAUSE our beurocracy has become ineffective do to uniformed people like John Hall who will just slow down the entire process of government proceedings. Congress has a 60 to 70 percent (depending on the poll) dissaproval rate. Maybe if the people we elected were better, we would feel comfortable in giving them some power. The answer is not to block the policies of a president who has kept us safe for the last 5 plus years, that would just endanger us even more. So as you can see, John Hall’s far left policies are inherently flawed. Let us pray that none of his polices ever get passed, or else we will be in a whole lot of trouble. John Hall is uneducated on the issues, and is tragicaly misguided, and I am ashamed that he is my representitive.
Though tardy, could not let the response to this go without expressing a few thoughts to this angry citizen in the 19th District here in New York.
1. A full 70 percent of Americans DO NOT APPROVE of the way President Bush has fought the war in Iraq. 50 percent of Americans favor immediate withdraw of our troops in Iraq, and another 43 percent of Americans favor the start of a withdraw of our troops from Iraq…in short, Americans no longer support the War in Iraq, and without public support, it is only a matter of time until the administration is left with NO CHOICE but to end Bush’s Folly in the desert sands.
We have done surges, and none of them have worked, none of them have stopped the insurgency. Bush has dismissed the Baker plan, and his path forward is nothing more than Stay the Course on steroids. If parents have any sense at all, they are going to ENCOURAGE their children NOT TO ENLIST into our armed services at this point in our history. Those in the National Guard, and Army Reserve who can, should GET OUT, end their committments to the Pentagon, as the Pentagon has not upheld THEIR END OF THE BARGAIN.
2. Social Security…the system would be fine if all the IOU’s in the account were repaid by our government. If the system were to be privatized, what happens to say someone who is 50 years old, who has already PAID INTO THE SYSTEM for some 34 years, and who will have paid into the system for 47 years if they retire at 63? My wife and I as a team (including matching funds from our employers) have paid over $10,000 a year into Social Security…that’s almost a half million dollars in REAL CASH into the system over a 47 year period. Even at pass book interest, we would have well over $1.5 MILLION dollars by the time we retire…what happens to us and our money if the system is privatized? As it is, we are never going to see a true point of getting out what we put in. Privatization might work for those just entering the work force, but what would you propose to do for those of us who have contributed into the system for most of our working careers? Therein is the problem…how do you change to a private system without abandoning and screwing those who were made promises by the government? You cannot say John Hall is WRONG in wanting to protect our benefits, that we have earned and paid for.
3. Health Care…we could probably do a pretty good job of seeing most Americans insured if we DEPORTED 12-20 million illegal aliens and their 4.5 million anchor babies. Illegals steal jobs, depress wages, it is basis supply and demand. If you deport illegals, wages and benefits will go up as companies are forced to compete for workers in a limited work force. So, want to fix the health care system, deport illegals, imprison companies who hire them, and build our fence on the Southern Border.
As for Sue Kelly…she was a WASTE, and thank God she is gone. Sue Kelly was ALL ABOUT SUE KELLY, and nothing more than a rubberstamp for the DeLay/Bush radical right wing agenda, and sold her vote to the Special Interest time and again during her 12 year career.
