Hillary’s Nest Egg

Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton hasn’t formally announced whether she intends to run for president in 2008, but she heads toward that possible campaign with $14.3 million left in her treasury, according to financial statements filed last night.
Clinton spent $37.1 million on her re-election campaign against former Yonkers Mayor John Spencer – who, even in Yonkers, was never viewed as a serious threat to the incumbent. But Gannett News Service’s John Machacek reports that $11 million was spent on a direct mail fundraising effort.
Machacek also reports that as of this morning, Spencer’s campaign statement had yet to arrive at the Senate. The deadline was midnight last night.

the fact of the matter is that hillary wasted 30 million
dollars to beat no one…now she is short money
for her presidential run..she could have spent 10 million
gotten the same results and had 20 million more on hand
if she spends her campaign funds that irresponsibly
can you imagine how she would spend your tax dollars
It was not a waste. George W. Bush did the same thing in 1998 against a “nobody”—used up a lot of his war chest, that is. But look at what Hillary got—a 2:1 landslide that gives her the ability to prove to people that she can win over some Republicans and conservatives, and that she is, in fact, “electable.” A waste? Are you kidding? By the way, 14 million is nothing to scoff at going into the race. She’ll have plenty of money. She’s the best fundraiser in American politics. She and her husband, in fact. So don’t worry.
By the way, I hate Hillary Clinton and will spend countless hours campaigning against her. But she knows what she’s doing.

A presidential wannabe!
Yes? No? Maybe so…
HILL NO! SHE’S GOT TO GO! TM

Please help me spread the word that Hillary Clinton just has to go!
actually the issue is not whether bush spent money
in texas..it is whether hillary didn’t have to spend
it in new york…assuming she was trying to demonstate
that she could cajole upstate republicans in to supporting
her and then argue that she could do the same nationwide
the amount expended to get the vote which i believe
in light of the faso disaster would have gone to her
anyway was pissing away money she could have better spendtin the primary states..no argument that she knows what she doing..just financially she is being driven
by her consultants…and they like to make commisions
is doing
We really need campaign finance reform. What we have at the moment is an incumbency protection racket. Imagine an ordinary citizen trying to challenge Hilary Clinton; she has tons of name recognition and $30 million in the bank. To run for her seat in Congress, you would have to either be independently wealthy, or be a whore for the special interests. It would be nearly impossible to raise enough money for a serious campaign against her, and in the unlikely event that a challenger could raise that kind of money, they would have to sell their soul to the corporate devil.
What amazes me is that some people think we ought to be exporting our democracy to places like Iraq, when we don’t even have a functional democracy here.
It saddens me greatly that Hilary Clinton is my Senator. She has no interest in the job, as evidenced by her transparent Preidential aspirations…..even tho she hasnt even been sworn in for her next term as my Senator.
Would somebody tell me something Hilary has accomplished in her first term (other than making freak show appearances as a fund raiser)for other candidates?
IS IT ALSO APPARENT THAT THE FOLLOWING REPUBLCIAN
AND DEMOCRATIC SENATORS HAVE NO INTEREST IN THEIR JOBS BECAUSE OF THEIR PRESIDENTIAL ASPIRATIONS?
JOHN MCCAIN
CHUCK HAGEL
SAM BROWNBACK
JOE BIDEN
JOHN KERRY
YOUR ANALOGY IS FLAWED..WHY DON’T YOU JUST SAY
YOU CAN’T STAND HILLARY…INSTEAD OF HIDING
BEHIND THE FALSE NOTION THAT SINCE SHE WANTS
TO BE PRESIDENT SHE CANT DO HER JOB
WOULD YOU HAVE PREFERRED JOHN SPENCER AS SENATOR
AFTER ALL HE DIDNT WANT TO BE PRESIDENT..
HE ALSO DIDNT’ HAVE THE INTELLIGENCE OR EXPERIENCE
TO BE SENATOR..WHICH IS IT
