State Democrats are scheduled to meet this afternoon in Manhattan and are expected to name a new leadership slate that includes Westchester Democratc Chairman Reginald LaFayette as head the state party’s executive committee.
“Eliot Spitzer called me and asked me to do this,” LaFayette told me via cell phone from Manhattan moments ago. “I’m excited. It’s exciting any time the incoming governor expresses confidence in you.”
The meeting begins at 2 p.m. Dave Pollack and June O’Nell are expected to be elected party co-chairs. Spitzer and Attorney General-elect Andrew Cuomo are expected to speak.
