Pataki claims his pension

December

Gov. George Pataki, who is retiring at the end of the year, has filed for a state pension that could pay him more than $113,000 a year, the Associated Press is reporting. Pataki, a Republican, would be eligible for the pension after Jan. 1, though the figure “could be reduced depending on the date he begins collecting benefits and the options he selects for dealing with survivor benefits,” the AP said.

Pataki, who is considering a run for president, earns $179,000 a year in his third term as governor; his government service also includes three years as mayor of Peekskill, eight years in the state Assembly and two years in the state Senate.
