Engel weighs in

December

Comments continue to roll in on the passing of former President Gerald Ford. This one is from Congressman Eliot Engel:

“Gerald Ford was a noble, honorable man who emerged as a leader at a time when Americans were questioning their government. President Ford came into office after America’s first Presidential resignation and also one of America’s first definitive failures at war. President Ford showed us that strength and integrity were necessary to the American presidency.

President Ford took power following one of the most difficult times in our nation’s history and brought America back together. As power has just changed hands in Congress, it is my hope that we will heed the legacy of Gerald Ford and always seek to stand together to face the challenges of the future.

My thoughts and prayers are with the Ford family.”
