Mike Long too

Conservative Party Chairman Michael Long has joined Republicans in criticizing Gov. Spitzer for headlining a big-ticket fund-raiser to help Democrats in the special Long Island Senate election Feb. 6.

Here’s part of Long’s news release:

Of course, money is being raised for the New York State Democratic Committee and not the governor himself, but how can anyone believe that “Day One’’ has changed anything with this type of fundraising taking place.

mike long is THE problem…he is the one who leveraged
the nominations of faso and spencer…he is the one
who has emasculated the republican party in new york
he is the one who has forced republicans to take
pro life positions opposed by nearly 80% of all
voters.and he is the one who has made the republican
party in this state incapable of winning a statewide
    race

edelman you are the problem – your liberal stance is pathetic. You are in the wrong party. DO the GOP a favor and get out of our party.

  3. the consultant

you have finally revealed your true problem with me
you are a not really a republican..you are a conservative
who wants to take the new york state republican
party back to the stone age…I will fight for true
republican conservative principles not those of
the tom delays, denny hastert’s and dick cheneys
barry goldwater would be ashamed of you and people
like you who have made the party irrelevant in new york
and if you keep it up..you will guarantee that we never
    win again

    Mike –
PLEEEZZE get off of News 12. You don’t represent the Republican Party although you may or may not represent Al and/or Jeanine.

Actually, the appearance is that the only person you represent is Mike Edelman. And your tirade on Mike Long in regard to this particular article seems to make it clear that you are aligning yourself as a Democrat.

Stay registered as a Republican, re-register as a Democrat, start your own party – frankly I don’t care what you do or what you think, but please stop pretending that you speak for the Republican Party. You most definitely DO NOT speak for any Republicans that I know.

Maybe you can join Jeanine on the WB as a sort of point and counter-point. Although I guess you’d have to actually disagree with her to do that. Maybe you can play Ed McMahon to her Johnny Carson.

Whatever. Just please stop being an embarrasment to the Republican Party.

One more thing, Mike. Didn’t Jeanine have the Conservative Party endorsement as well? Or does her statewide race somehow differ from the others? Or do you just not want to attach her name to anything negative that you might say.

And if you’re going to force your diatribe upon us, at least use a few capial letters, commas, periods – anything to make it look like you actually know how to write.

Interestingly, however, you always seem to remember to capitalize “I”. i guess thats because its all about you

    elia…i have been a republican for ove 40 years..worked
to elect evey republican who has ever run in this county
from carl vergari to rob astorino…there was a time when
republicans could win because they were mainstream
thinkers and fiscal conservatives..now your end of the
party wants all candidates to tow the line on social
issues like abortion, gun control, and gay unions
I don’t agree..neither do Rudy Giuliani, MIke Bloomberg
and for that matter former governor Pataki…
I am really tired of some of you whining about my
brand of republicanism..it is the same as eisenhower
ford, nixon, and bush 41…and your point about Jeanine
doesn’t take into consideration that she first was
going to run for the US senate but your buddy
mike long vetoed her …so along with her own
mistakes she could not get going..but her consultants
insisted she run anyway….I will say the same thing
about the conservative and Independence parties that
you said about me…Run your own candidates, put forth
your own ideas, but stop dictating to the republican
party what candidates they should run..that’s how
we got John Spencer and John Faso..I’m sure your
real proud they ran stellar races….you want
to be an ideologue, go right ahead…but you may
have to swallow real hard if rudy gets the national
parties nod to run…what then…going to stay home?
