Not that kind of red light district

January
30

The Westchester County office building and Westchester County Center in White Plains will be illuminated in red this Friday to mark the county’s support of “GoRed for Women.” GoRed is an American Heart Association campaign to raise the public’s awareness that heart disease is the number one killer of American women.

County Executive Andrew Spano has also asked all county employees to wear something red to work on Friday to commemorate the day.

According to the county’s announcement, other big buildings that have “turned red” during American Heart Month, celebrated in February, include the Washington Monument and Empire State Building.

Addendum: County Clerk Tim Idoni has announced his office is also adopting a red wardrobe on Friday; staff members also are collecting donations for the Heart Association.
