More on illegal immigration

Posted by: Mike Risinit - Posted in Uncategorized on Feb 06, 2007

Assemblyman Greg Ball will hold another session on seeking answers to the area’s illegal immigration issue.

The freshman lawmaker held one meeting last month in the Brewster Library, a gathering he termed a “listening session.” Many residents and officials that night voiced frustration with the federal government’s apparent inaction on securing the country’s borders.

Ball, who campaigned on clamping down on illegal immigration, is describing Thursday’s meeting (Feb. 8) as a work session to “develop a pragmatic plan of action that elected officials and community leaders can work together to implement.”

The meeting starts at 7 p.m. in the conference room of the Putnam County Emergency Services Bldg., Donald B. Smith Government Center, 110 Old Route 6, Bldg. 1, Carmel, N.Y.
