Spano gets presidential attention

February
11

Westchester County Executive Andrew Spano had the task of introducing former President Bill Clinton to the audience at today’s Democratic Party breakfast.

Clinton returned the favor by offering some praise for the leader of his adopted county.

“I love living here,” Clinton said about Westchester. “Andy Spano has done a great job and I am completely indebted to him for maintaining a lot of good public golf courses.”

Andy Spano will end up in Washington if Hillary is elected. Andy Spano is very close to the Clintons. Andy relationship with the Clintons will benefit all Westchester residents – “Go Andy and Go Hillary”

Andy Spano has made westchester county the highest taxed in the nation.

County taxes are not what is hurting the people, it is school taxes and state mandates. Please take the time to understand the tax structure and why county taxes fet raised, they get raised because state and federal mandates have been shifted to the county government. Therefore, higher county taxes in all counties.

first of all county government is not necessary on top
of city, town and village all with there own police
fire justice courts etc…so if we eliminate the extra
layer of elected officials, and simply have a professional
manager we save plenty…Next I agree with your assessment
about state mandates..however someone has to pay for what
the state mandates and that means either property taxes
or higher income taxes…property taxes fall on homeowners
alone..income taxes hit everyone…so if there were no
county government upon which to foist “unfuned mandates”
your property taxes would go down and your state income
    taxes would go up
Now lets talk about the real problem for upper middle
class income earners ie between 100,000 and 300,000
household per year..and that is the Alternative Minimum
tax which disallows deductions of state income taxes
and property taxes on your tax return…this AMT
actually produces more revenue than the rest of the
tax code.and means that the president’s tax cuts
are illusory in that the only people who benefit are
those making over a million dollars because they
usually avoid falling into the AMT..all the rest of
us supposedly “rich” taxpayers get screwed..and of course
those who have no income are not affected…The tax
system is broken..and tax cuts at the federal level are
phoney..except for the very rich..(depends on your definintion of rich)..solution is the flat tax
whatever number is required to eliminate the deficit
in five years…and then it can be modified…
