What happens in Carson City
All political watchers will turn their eyes to Nevada—yes, Nevada—today as the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME) holds one of the first major events of the Democratic presidential campaign season, a forum in Carson City. All of the leading candidates are expected to attend, with the exception of Illinois Sen. Barack Obama.
In addition to appearing at the forum, Sen. Hillary Clinton plans to deliver a 5:20 p.m. speech to the Nevada State Education Association in Las Vegas.
Nevada’s Democratic caucus is set for next Jan. 19.
