Between his left-wing social positions, and his embarrassing personal baggage (cheating on his wife with his City Hall aid; messy divorces; Bernie Kerik, etc.), the conservative base of the GOP will never support him in the primaries. Of course he appeals to loopy Rockefeller Republicans in New York, and to Democrats in the media who like his social stances. Fortunately, New York Republicans have practically no say in national politics. Liberal northeastern Republicans have made themselves irrelevant.
