Spitzer: pick for president “premature”

February
28

Gov. Eliot Spitzer met with the New York Congressional delegation, including Sen. Hillary Clinton, in Washington today but told The Associated Press he was making no presidential endorsement.

“At this point it’s premature to be even thinking about questions like that,” Spitzer said. “I’m focused on the state and the budget.” Spitzer added that in his meetings with Clinton, “presidential politics didn’t come up, because we have jobs to do.”

Lt. Gov. David Paterson, for his part, told an Albany radio station today that his candidate is “Hillary Clinton. No question,” according to the AP report.
