Bill & Hill in Selma

Posted by: Glenn Blain - Posted in Uncategorized on Mar 01, 2007

Is Hillary Rodham Clinton calling in the cavalry to help shore up her support among African Americans?

Clinton’s campaign just announced that former President Bill Clinton, who remains immensely popular with black voters, will join the senator in Selma, Ala., on Sunday to help commemorate the 42nd anniversary of the bloody civil rights march that helped end segregation in the South.

The Clintons will join religious and community leaders and a Congressional delegation in a re-enactment of the 1965 March Across Edmund Pettus Bridge. Later, Hillary will join Bill Clinton as he is inducted into the Voting Rights Hall of Fame.

Bill Clinton’s presence in Selma is all but certain to add to the presidential-buzz surrounding the weekend, which includes Hillary Clinton and her top rival for the Democratic nomination, Illinois Sen. Barack Obama, giving almost dueling speeches at Semla churches Sunday morning.

At 11 a.m., Obama will deliver an address at the Brown Chapel AME Church, where the march kicked off 42 years ago. A few minutes earler, Clinton is scheduled to speak at the First Baptist Church.

Both Clinton and Obama are scheduled to take part in the march.

If I were her, I’d do the EXACT same thing. Just make sure he keeps his comments VERY short! You go girl!!!

One of the most disgusting things to see are the trashy Clintons taking refuge in black churches, when both of them will do or say anything to be president, both have zero morals, both have raging tempers and have not met a friend they would not back stab.

The Clintons have no limits when it comes to cynical calculation for purely political purposes. This would-be political dynasty’s presence in Selma should be seen by all for what it is.

Hillary and Bill Clinton are always welcome in the Black community. Don’t be a hater because they understand what the struggle is about and you don’t.
