Giuliani names Molinari, Powers state chairs

March

Former NYC Mayor Rudy Giuliani has announced that former New York State Republican Party Chairman Bill Powers and former Congressman Guy Molinari will chair his presidential campaign in New York state.

Molinari, the announcement notes, “recruited Mr. Giuliani and joined forces with him to start a renaissance in New York City.” He was chief campaign advisor for Giuliani in 1989, 1993 and 1997, and campaign chairman for Staten Island through each mayoral election. He served in Congress from 1981 to 1989 and was state chairman of former President George H.W. Bush’s 1988 campaign.

Powers served as state party chairman from 1991 to 2001, during a rebuilding period that put GOP mayors in charge of four of the six largest cities, including New York City.

I can’t see how this help Guialiani. Both Powers and Molinari are old men who have been out of the loop, politically, for years.
