It’s the end of an era in Yorktown, where Town Supervisor Linda Cooper has “announced”:http://www.thejournalnews.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20070301/NEWS02/703010356/1026/NEWS10 she will not seek re-election this fall, Brian Howard reports.

Cooper, 54, has held the job for 12 years and is one of the county’s better-known municipal figures. She did not say what the future holds, but would not rule out a run for another elected office.
