The funeral of Assemblyman Kenneth P. Zebrowski was a who’s-who of New York state and local politicians, including Gov. Eliot Spitzer, Attorney General Andrew Cuomo, Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli and Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver.

Spitzer gave a short eulogy during the funeral, saying that few had seen a freshman assemblyman make such an impact as Zebrowski, who was first elected to the state Legislature in 2004.
“He led a wonderful life and he will leave a splendid legacy,” Spitzer said.
Zebrowski died Sunday at age 61 from complications of liver disease.
Mourners filled the pews at St. Augustine’s Church in New City, with some having to stand along walls on the side and in the rear of the church. Several Assembly members, wearing carnations pinned to their lapels, filed in shortly before the service began.
Zebrowski’s casket was brought, in a procession that closed down South Main Street, from the Michael J. Higgins Funeral Home following a car that carried a large red, white and blue Democratic donkey made from flowers. After the service, Zebrowski was buried at St. Anthony’s Cemetery in Nanuet.
