Yonkers council candidate calls for investigation

March
30

Journal News reporter Ernie Garcia provided this item:

Democratic candidate for City Council Joan Gronowski, who is running to replace Councilman Dennis Robertson, D-3rd District, released a letter yesterday asking the state to investigate the legality of the creation of the Yonkers Bureau of Enforcement in 1998.

In a March 30 letter addressed to Mitchell Morris, the state’s Deputy Comptroller for Municipal Affairs, Gronowski, 57, wrote that the bureau was founded to adjudicate city ordinance violations, but has operated for almost 10 years without the state legislature’s approvals to do so.

She described the bureau as a â€Å“smoke-and-mirrors bureau empowered to do nothing.â€?

Gronowski announced her candidacy on March 22 and she has a history of friction with city hall. Last year the print and television model won a five-year legal battle against the city last year when a federal appeals court upheld a 2004 jury verdict awarding her $131,573.

She sued the city after former Mayor John Spencer fired her from her $52,950-a-year job in the city’s consumer protection bureau, which she argued was due to her support in 2000 for a political rival to Spencer.

A new era in Westchester politics has begun! The “roots” have taken to Myspace to organize for Greenburgh Town Supervisor Paul Feiner.

After all he is the “Democracy.com Web 2.0” pol with attitude!

Can you feel the attitude? I know we can can!

“smoke and mirrors”? Kinda like all that surgery Joan?

I truly do believe that “the consultant” is none other than Mike Edelman but I could be wrong.

Oh, please. You and most of the city are aware of this surgery because she, herself, shared the knowledge with EVERYBODY, without hesitation. This news is about as stale as your soul. At least she paid for her own surgery – she did not steal money from the taxpayers to do so. You are an inarticulate buffoon, with no qualms about trivializing the acts of a corrupt government, focusing instead on an issue personal to the candidate. You are bereft (look it up, genious) of a conscience, soul and intellect. Your ugliness could never be remedied by any plastic surgery.

OOPS…forgot to note that my earlier post was for “Pinocchio”, who obviously needs spellcheck for his or her screen identity. Or, better yet, change your screen name to another Disney character you may have an easier time spelling, and which may more aptly describe your intelligence level. I suggest “Dumbo”. Further, keep attacking Joan for her surgery. She is already sympathetic with the public due to what the city of Yonkers did to her. If you keep attacking her with inane non-issues, you will only increase her support and show the public that her detractors must resort to personal assaults.

The Consultant should disclose on News 12 that he is on Amicone’s payroll (indirectly). He is not an official Republican comentator as he has no position on the County Executive Committee, and he constantly gets it wrong when it comes to Yonkers.
