you all need to make the distinction between legitimate political patronage of which there is plenty on both sides of the isle..and whether jeries should remain the leader
while under the cloud of a federal investigation..the latter
requires a no answer

Why dont you give this man a break. The County budget is 1.3 billion dollars and the City budget is 860 million dollars there is tons of patronage in city hall John Fleming, Lorranie Lopez, Christine Sculti, John Cerino, Marty Peterson etc. All they do is drive around in city owned cars.

Where do you get that he dosen't have a college degree? He does in fact have a degree and on top of that the Chamber of Commerce doesn't deal with economic development.

It sounds to me like you haven't any facts what so ever to back up your claims.

I respectfully disagree with the consultant. The problem is not that Zehy got a job with the chamber while holding party office. The problem is that he got a job that he was not qualified for (dealing with economic development with no college degree). The second problem is that, according to the first report, he only worked two days a week for a $100,000 a year job (which again, he was not qualified for).

I would not shy away from using the word corruption in describing this arrangement.

I don't get the point of the story...a political leader
is getting paid from a grant from the state given to
the chamber of comnmerce..Reggie Laffyette is being paid
by the county to be election commissioner and he is
chairman of the democratic party...Even though I have called
upon zhey to relinquish his party postition until the cloud
of the federal subpoena is erased, I really can't argue that
he shouldn't be allowed to be employed by the chamber
Note he was also at one point working for the senate
These arrangements are not unusual for political
leaders and zhey is entitled to make a legitimate living
if the chamber thought he could be helpful...so
I really don't think fact of his employment
is germain to any other discussion about whether or
not he should be the republican leader...
