Peekskill Mayor John Testa announced he would not seek re-election this morning at a news conference, my colleague Robert Marchant reports. Marchant submitted the following:
Testa, a Republican who has been in the mayor’s office since 2002, said he wanted to focus on his family.
The mayor’s office is up for election in November, and Democratic Councilwoman Mary Foster has announced her candidacy for the position. The Republican party has not yet made its mayoral pick.
