Yonkers anti-budget rally tomorrow

April
9

Haven’t had enough of local leaders decrying the new state budget? Yonkers Mayor Phil Amicone is throwing a rally tomorrow at 1 p.m., calling on “Westchester officials, community leaders, school superintendents and other activists to join him in speaking out against the state budget’s failure to meet the needs of Westchester taxpayers.”

The rally will be on the steps of City Hall in Yonkers, followed by a gathering in the Mayor’s Reception Room. The announcement does not detail which leaders, other than the mayor, are expected to attend.

Update: Amicone press aide Amanda Modugno says among those confirmed for the rally are five county legislators—George Oros, Sue Swanson, Bernice Spreckman and Urusula LaMotte from the GOP caucus and Democrat Tom Abinanti. Assemblyman Mike Spano, R-Yonkers, and several town supervisors and managers have also RSVPd that they are coming.

this is pathetic of amicone. anyone with a mind looking at the actual budget would see how well yonkers made out.

Yonkers made out well. What budget are you looking at? The only thing that Yonkers has going for them is the 76 million in recurring aid that was secured by Nick Spano. Take another look 1.6 million for Westchester 70 million for Nassau and Suffolk. The only thing that Yonkers and Westchester County got was a good screwing. Day one everything changes remember that-that stupid line about transparency- Well we have transparency-cause all of us should be able to see very clearly now right through empty campain promises. The Governor made a deal and sold out Westchester-Wow Andrea you sure have clout-Hopefully we see clearly next year.

The City of Yonkers is going broke because Amicone is on a spending spree trying to buy the election. He is spreading taxpayer dollars all over Yonkers. He spends at least a million dollars a year on “communications”. Richard Halevy, David Simpson, Amanda Modugno, John Rubbo, Ronnie Mashandaro, Vinny Agostino and of course George Hudak (Imagemakers). Add it up folks and I guarantee you have a million bucks, and that’s before the vehicles, cell phones, etc. Factor in the Political hacks and you have another million plus.

Amicone could save the taxpayers at least $2.5 million a year by getting his campaign team off the City payroll.
