Westchester’s MLK Jr. statue to be unveiled

After years of planning, Westchester County legislators will be among the dignitiaries gathered for the unveiling of the county’s new statue of Martin Luther King Jr. Thursday outside the county courthouse in White Plains.

The official ceremony is set for 3:30 p.m. Among those expected to attend are Board Chairman William Ryan, D-White Plains; Vice Chairman Clinton Young, D-Mount Vernon; County Executive Andrew Spano and the $500,000 sculpture’s creator, Mount Vernon artist Milton Sherrill.

    Ah, yes. About time Brittany got a little good will comment about the Hundred Years War of the fourteenth century. It’s been a long time, though it seems like just yesterday.
