Stopping global warming in Bedford Hills

April
11

Congressman John Hall, County Executive Andrew Spano, and Mike Richter, who was the goalie for the New York Rangers when they won the Stanley Cup, are among the expected guests at a stop global warming event planned for Saturday afternoon at Rainbeau Ridge, a farm in Bedford Hills.

Hall and Spano are expected to show up earlier in the day at a global climate change rally on the Bear Mountain Bridge.

The event at Rainbeau Ridge, sponsored by the Westchester Land Trust and other environmental groups, runs from noon to 3 p.m. It is one of many planned to celebrate Earth Day and urge elected officials to dramatically reduce carbon emissions to diminish the effects of global climate change.

The Rainbeau Ridge event at 49 David’s Way is also sponsored by The Nature Conservancy Eastern New York Chapter, Riverkeeper, Federated Conservationists of Westchester County, New York League of Conservation Voters, Beaver Dam Sanctuary, and Citizens Campaign for the Environment.

It is part of a nationwide campaign called Step it Up which plans more than 1,300 events in 50 states. For more information visit www.stepitup2007.org
