Arizona Sen. and Republican presidential candidate John McCain went tete-a-tete with Daily Show host Jon Stewart last night, mostly over the war in Iraq. The video, in two parts, is “here.”:http://www.comedycentral.com/motherload/player.jhtml?ml_video=85762&ml_collection=&ml_gateway=&ml_gateway_id=&ml_comedian=&ml_runtime=&ml_context=show&ml_origin_url=%2Fshows%2Fthe_daily_show%2Findex.jhtml&ml_playlist=&lnk=&is_large=true

Serving in the military does not give Mr. McCain a free pass to mock the soldiers who’ve died from IEDs or the innocent Iranians who will die by bombing their nation.
The Republicans have demonstrated that they hold no esteem for real heros who have served in the military by actively smearing the name and deeds of John Kerry and Max Cleland… while promoting a lowlife frat boy who had his daddy buy him a non-combat position in America during the Viet Nam. Even then he STILL managed to spend his service drinking and drugging and going AWOL, ultimately showing up for a dental appointment.
And to tell the people who are rightfully offended by his comments to ‘get a life and lighten up’... if you have any courage tell that to the families of American men and women who’s lives have been shattered by their deaths.
Bad taste is nothing more than bad taste, no matter how one tries to shrug it off as careless and cruel jokes.
We already have one arrogant, insensitive, clueless, unapologetic jerk in the White House. Why on earth would any American in their right mind want another (even if they were so ignorant as to vote for a Republican in these times)?
