Clinton accepts New Hampshire debate; Obama joins her

Hillary Rodham Clinton’s campaign just announced that she will take part in a June 3rd Democratic candidates’ debate in Manchester, New Hampshire. The debate is sponsored by WMUR-TV, The New Hampshire Union Leader, and CNN.

“The WMUR/Union Leader debate is an important part of the New Hampshire Primary tradition, and Senator Clinton is excited to participate,” said Clinton spokesperson Mo Elleithee in a press release. “She looks forward to this opportunity to continue her conversation with Granite Staters and demonstrate why she is the candidate most ready to lead and deliver the change we need.

“We look forward to participating in the DNC’s schedule of six sanctioned debates that begins in July.”

UPDATE: Barack Obama’s in too.

“We had hoped that the DNC and the debate’s sponsors would agree to make this debate one of the DNC’s six sanctioned debates,â€? said Obama New Hampshire Director Matt Rodriguez. “However, Senator Obama believes talking about how we can change our politics with the other candidates in the home of the nation’s first primary is an opportunity too important to miss.â€?

One Response to “Clinton accepts New Hampshire debate; Obama joins her”

After weeks of rejecting their invitations to the June 3rd debate, both Hillary and Obama have changed their minds and decided to attend the next debate. The pair of “Do Nothing Dems” changed their position less than 24 hours after Senator Mike Gravel received and accepted his invitation. For weeks now, Hillary and Obama insisted they would NOT attend-but now they’ve abruptly changed their minds. I can only speculate as to their rationale—but me thinks it might have something to do with the fact that Senator Gravel is now gaining the momentum!
