Spano looking for state help with flood expenses

Posted by: Jay Gallagher - Posted in Albany, Uncategorized on May 14, 2007

Westchester County Executive Andrew Spano paid a visit to the Capitol Monday, not only to join in a rally to support Hillary Clinton for president but also trying to convince lawmakers that the county should get some state money to help repair damage from last month’s flooding, and also get some extra state money for hosting the Empire State Games this summer.

“There’s not enough money around’’ to make all the needed repairs from the flood, Spano said, although he didn’t have any specific proposal to lay before lawmakers today.

“The county executive is being very pro-active,’’ said Assemblyman Richard Brodsky, D-Greenburgh, who was escorting Spano around.

Spano said he thinks the county needs about $200,000 more from the state to cover expenses related to the Empire State Games, which are athletic competitions slated to be held this summer in several venues around the state.

Well good luck with that request with “Senator do nothing Cousins” there, she couldn’t get you money if she tried, does she even know we had flooding or was she to busy hiding from the press to answer questions of how much the state was going to kick in to help us out. When are all those promises she made during the campaign going to kick in?, guess she is still waiting for that Day One Everything Changes part to come thru. County Exec. had Nick Spano been there you would have had your money already appropriated for.
