Willie Janeway, a lobbyist for The Nature Conservancy, has been selected as the new state Department of Environmental Conservation director for this region, The Albany Times-Union “is reporting.”:http://timesunion.com/AspStories/story.asp?storyID=589780&category=STATE&newsdate=5%2F16%2F2007 Janeway will head the Region 3 office in New Paltz, which covers Dutchess, Orange, Putnam, Rockland, Sullivan, Ulster and Westchester counties.

Janeway has been executive director of the Hudson Valley Greenway Conservancy and operations director of the Adirondack Mountain Club, according to the story.
