Guess who’s coming to dinner
If you live in a place like Iowa or New Hampshire, you run the actual risk of having a presidential candidate saunter up to your Memorial Day barbecue. But for most of us, the question posed (light-heartedly) by Quinnipiac University in a poll released this morning is only hypothetical.
The poll asked: “Who would you rather chat with at a Memorial Day picnic?” among leading contenders.
On the Democratic side, the top answer was Barack Obama with 33 percent. New York Sen. Hillary Clinton was second, with 24 percent; followed by former Vice President Al Gore (not a declared candidate) and 2004 vice presidential candidate John Edwards, who both took 16 percent.
On the Republican side, it was former New York City Mayor Rudolph Giuliani with 37 percent, followed by Arizona Sen. John McCain at 27 percent and former Tennessee Sen. Fred Thompson at 16 percent. Thompson is also not a declared candidate, although there are signs he may enter the race. Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney polled at 6 percent.

Quinnipiac continues their deception by including non-candidate Gore in polling – without producing polls with no Gore.
Hopefully, voters “chatting” with Obama and Hillary will inquire about their HUGE contributions from hedge-funds and private equity firms.
