Union singer excites crowd at Clinton’s AFL-CIO town hall

June

Katharine McPhee may have been a finalist on American Idol, but her performance at a rally for Sen. Hillary Clinton earlier this week was subpar compared to the excitement generated by Lynn Marie Smith in Detroit Saturday morning,

With Clinton’s appearance at an AFL-CIO town hall meeting delayed by a late flight, this organizer for the American Federation of Teachers had the 700-member audience clapping along to her songs and even got a conga line going.

One of her best received songs was a rewrite of “I Will Survive,’’ she dubbed, “I Can’t Survive.’’ It refers to rascal CEOs and the declares, “We joined the union so we could make a living wage.’’

How aware was Clinton that she was in a union hall in a state reeling from the loss of manufacturing jobs?

She announced her opposition to the U.S.-Korea free trade agreement.

Rather a gratuitous slam at Katharine! I think the fault lies with the audience and not the performer. Actually, Katharine’s mic wasn’t very loud but the people close to the stage seemed to enjoy it, see the pictures in the website. I would bet that Katharine would have had a great reception by a this Detroit audience and that Lynn would have had an equally difficult time in DC.

I see how it works, click my name for the website with pictures of Katharine and Hillary Clinton in DC.

I dont agree with the writer, but 100% agree you Phenomenal (=.=) .. Some people who were there, saying most people enjoyed seeing Kat’s performance..
Not every news on the internet is True.

Wow! How fortuitous for Kat that both her fans happened upon this site to defend her!

I saw pics as well. Lots of bored faces there.

From the pictures I saw, most people were looking the other way or not into the music when Katharine was singing. She certainly didn’t get applause. Singing with canned music doesn’t help, either.
