Many fans of the HBO series “The Sopranos’’ were disappointed by Sunday night’s final episode when the program ended with mobster Tony Soprano and his family having dinner at a restaurant. No violence, action and drama.
Tonight the suspense will be on another cable network—C-Span 2. This storyline is about the real life future of Attorney General Alberto Gonzales, who critics say has politicized the Justice Department.
President Bush has vowed to keep Gonzales in office regardless of public opinion and calls by members of Congress for him to resign.
At 5:30 the Senate will vote whether to end debate on a “no confidence’’ proposal offered by Sen. Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y.
Under Senate rules, 60 votes are needed before the resolution can come to a vote.
Schumer’s press office declined this morning to predict the outcome. Caution to viewers: Watching the Senate vote can be more boring than watching a family eat dinner.
