D’Amato goes for Thompson

June
13

In case you missed it, former U.S. Senator Alfonse D’Amato announced on NY1 last night that he would support another former senator for president – Fred Thompson.

“Voters are tired of the rhetoric and are thirsting for leadership, said D’Amato, who served with Thompson in the Senate. “Fred Thompson is the kind of candidate our Party can unify behind and support wholeheartedly.

  1. the consultant

Al D’amato is the reason the ny republican party is in
    the crapper…he is a grudge politician…against jeanine
pirro, and against rudy giuliani, not because of their
positions but because, in Rudy’s case he supported
cuomo and went after al’s brother armand who was
    and still is a crook

  2. anti consultant

While I believe that Thompson is the best candidate that the GOP can pick for next year, the endorsement by Al D’amato is not really a positive thing.

  3. the consultant

Fred Thompson is a lovely guy but while in the senate
he was lazy…I doubt there were any bills with his
name on them…He is all puff and little substance..and
I will bet that he does not do well against hillary or
obama in the national polls…of course that is not
really a reflection on a state by state electoral count
which is what the polling orgs should be doing rather
than a national horse race pol

does anybody even care who Al D’Amato supports, the consultant is correct about him

  5. The Anti-Consultant

While the consultant is correct about D’Amato, he has no idea what Thompson was like in the Senate. That is accusation against Thompson that so far remains unsubstantiated. I don’t want Thompson but there is no shame in someone holding a different position. As for grudes, Edelman is one to talk.
