Clinton to participate in gay-issues forum
Hillary Clinton is among several Democratic presidential contenders who will participate in a forum on gay issues next month co-hosted by singer Melissa Etheridge, The Associated Press reports.
Clinton, Barack Obama and John Edwards have agreed to appear in the live, one-hour forum in Los Angeles on Aug. 9, according to the AP. The program is sponsored by the Human Rights Campaign and will be broadcast on the LOGO cable channel, which will also stream the forum live on its Web site.
HRC spokesman Brad Luna told the AP the forum was a “historic opportunity for us;” he said it was the first time major presidential candidates had agreed to address gay issues before a television audience.
