One less Republican Spano
Assemblyman Mike Spano will no longer have to worry about being a Republican in the Democrat controlled Assembly. He’s switching parties.
In another blow to the Westchester GOP, Spano will announce his decision to become a Democrat at an 11:30 a.m. press conference at Democratic headquarters in White Plains, said party Chairman Reginald LaFayette. Assembly speaker Sheldon Silver and County Executive Andrew Spano are expected to be on hand for the announcement.
Spano is the brother of former state Sen. Nicholas Spano and a member of the Yonkers-based Spano family that was once synonymous with Republican power in Westchester.
Nick Spano is not expected – at least not yet – to announce any plans to switch parties, though he has been spotted at a few Democratic gatherings lately.

Could the Spano clan be looking to capture City Hall in four years? It is going to be hard as h-ll for a Republican to get elected after the spending sprees of the Spencer/Amicone era is brought to light!
Good for Mike Spano now he will be able to bring the money home from Albany that Nick use to bring to benefit Yonkers, which Cousins never will be able to get ahold of. (Guess she is still waiting for Day ONE)! Best of Luck to him, I will still vote for him no matter what party he is affiliated with as he is and his brother was a good politician. Just think of the benefits Westchester could have if Nick goes back to the Senate (Majority) and Michael now in the Assembly (Majority). Cousins get out of the way and let the real political power help out Westchester, maybe Greenburgh will wake up after her term and realize what they had and lost and could have back.

The Consultant is always spinning. When will he also become a Democrat? The Republicans also are the party of cover ups for Jereis’ brother, and those were cover ups of two felony arrests. How were those two felony arrests kept from the media? Now, guess who put those two cover ups into effect?
Could it be the same two allegedly involved in seeing that Jim Surdoval only got probation for FIVE felonies?

I have to agree with the Consultant, Ethan and Pinochio do you two always get out of the wrong side of the Bed? Neither one of you have any political sense that anyone would appreciate. Whenever you (Pinochio) write it is always negative and degrading to someone. All you both do is complain about everthing past and present, thank God I don’t go thru life like that. You should learn to appreciate things/life around you! You might actually have a good day!
The two arrests AND plea deal of Jereis’ brother all were kept from the media. If you read the story you will see why this information only came out now—because of disciplanry action by the state’s licensing commmittee.
This almost had to be a Pirro-Nick Spano game. It’s probably not a coincidence that both Mt. Pleasant and Greenburgh are/were in Nick’s Senate distrtict. The JN should find out who made the arrests in each instance…was it local or county cops?
It’s one thing if misdemeanors don’t get published. Those are small potatoes. But felonies involving cocaine are not small matters. Add on the fact that Zehy Jereis himself is tied in with mobsters and has a large scale (19 pounds) pot bust in his own background.
It’s not “conspiratorial” to point out facts, which the Consultant is always unwilling to do when the paths lead to Jeanine Pirro and Nick Spano, which they do in both this and the Surdoval case. His explanation for Mike Spano’s party switch is equally disingenuous.
FYI..if the news media failed to report it, the reason
is that the news media failed to pick it up…indictments
are public, the proceedings are public, and neither the
DA nor a state senator can quash the information…
Here is a better view, now EVERY Assemblyperson in Westchester is a Democrat. Next year there will be a Democratic majority in the Senate and then watch all the great things the State will do – and they will do more to have a Democratic Mayor.
In Yonkers the Assembly Democrats will work with the Senate Democrats Klein and Stewart-Cousins to get the things needed. Mike Spano will be better for Senator Stewart-Cousins than Paulin or Bradley.

Mike Spano, the champion of slackers in Albany, whose sole duty was to line up lobbyists to pay for his and Big Nick’s lunches, dinners and perks, fearful that he may actually have to work for a living, decides to rest comfortably in Shelly’s arms so that he can continue to feed at the public trough? Principle? Loyalty? Steadfastness? Little Mickey never learned the meaning of those words, much like the rest of his craven family. Whoever eats fastest eats the most, is the Spano family motto. Mike, you are a disgrace, and you deserve all of the derision that will follow this pathetic move. Nick, whose hand is never too far away from the controls of his family’s politics, you too are a disgrace. Where is the Yonkers Republican Party in decrying this move? Oh, wait, the party there I nothing more than an empty cutout for the parasites that constitute the Spano Family. Politics is suppose to be a vocation dedicate to the betterment of the electorate. Politics, for the Spano family, is only about the Spano family. The only reason Little Mike feels comfortable in locking arms with Shelly is that he gets to daydream the rest of his life away, nuzzled closely to a teat that he thinks will feed him forever. Pirro and Republicans tied to Nick helped kill the story as a favor to Spano.
Westchester does not need a Spano in office; they are just for themselves.

The “stuff” about Jeanine and Nick is believed to be true by many, many people. No time here to go into it all in great detail, but there is a foundation for it.
As far as the Consultant is concerned, he continues to spin. The news media calls the police agencies to learn of any significant arrests. They don’t go in person to each police dept. to read the records. It is very easy to keep arrests from the press. But in the case of felony arrests it is amazing they did so and also got away with it.
If it turns out the county cops made those two arrests, or were involved with them in any way, one more piece of this Jereis puzzle will be in place.
