Environmental group lauds lawmakers

Posted by: Mike Risinit - Posted in Greg Ball, Uncategorized, Vincent Leibell on Jul 17, 2007

Environmental Advocates of New York today released its list recognizing state lawmakers who supported “all four of the environmental community’s priority Super Bills.” The 2007 Super Bills include the Community Preservation Act, the Clean Water Protection/Flood Prevention Act, also known as the “wetlands bill”, the Bigger Better Bottle Bill and the Climate Change Solutions Act & Fund.

Several Westchester lawmakers made the list, as did Assemblywoman Sandra Galef, D-Ossining, whose district includes Kent, Putnam Valley and Philipstown in Putnam County. Putnam’s other state lawmakers, state Sen. Vincent Leibell, R-Patterson, and Assemblyman Greg Ball, R-Carmel, weren’t on the list of supporters. Of the 68 supporters recognized in both houses, only three are Republicans.

Leibell, in the past, has been recognized by Environmental Advocates of New York for his support of the Super Bills. Last year, when Leibell was on board, the four Super Bills included the bottle bill, the Community Preservation Act, the wetlands bill and the Environmental Protection Fund Enhancement Act.

I’m glad Ball wasn’t so “honored”. They’re just another group of liberal wackos pushing their agenda.

The Community Preservation Act was a secret tax. While the intention is good, we really should not be pushing this program onto the already overburdened taxpayers of New York.

Hey Mike – why don’t you print that Leibell didn’t/couldn’t get any of those bills he supported passed in the State Senate where he was the majority? Stop feeding at the trough of Leibell BS.
