Sen. Charles Schumer, who has been a frequent critic of Karl Rove, just issued a statement warning the Bush advisor that his resignation will not stop the Senate from continuing to investigate his role in the controversial firing of U.S. Attorneys.

“Karl Rove’s resignation will not stop our inquiry into the firings of the U.S. attorneys,” Schumer said in the statement. “He has every bit as much of a legal obligation to reveal the truth once he steps down as he does today.”
