Lesnick pitches demolition review act

Posted by: Liz Anderson - Posted in 2007, Charles Lesnick, Yonkers on Aug 14, 2007

Via Ernie Garcia, here’s a “quick video clip”:http://www.lohud.com/audio/politics/lesnick.mpg of Yonkers City Council President Charles Lesnick calling for the enactment of the Historic Building Demolition Review Act, which would require that demolition permits for buildings older than 75 years get a review by the city’s landmarks board before razing can proceed.

The city council’s real estate committee is reviewing the act tonight at 7:30. Lesnick and other community embers, as well as 3rd District city council candidate Joan Gronowski, are
standing in front of 323 Palisade Ave., the site of a historic mansion razed earlier this month.

Apologies for the problems with sound quality toward the end; a truck was passing through, Ernie reports.
