Not France. Not even close.
Yonkers City Council President Chuck Lesnick is promoting an event called the “Tour de Yonkers,” set to take place this weekend with a cycle from Yonkers through the Bronx and into Manhattan.
A host of elected officials plan to participate. Lesnick, council Majority Leader Patricia McDow, Council member and mayoral candidate Dennis Roberts
on, County Legislator Ken Jenkins, County Legislator Jose Alvarado, and Congressman Eliot Engel are all on the list, though whether all will take to the road is unclear.
The event—a tour through parks run by Yonkers, Westchester County and NYC—is in partnership with the Yonkers Bike Club. It leaves Saturday at 9 a.m. sharp from Redmond Park Field.

Lesnick must have a thing for Gay Paree’. He had his “charettes,” and now here comes his “Tour de Yonkers.”
Between charettes, kayacks, canoes and bikes, one thing is
clear…Chuck Lesnick shares more than a first name with Chuck Schumer. Neither one can resist a chance, ANY chance, for a photo-op. Schumer had a press conference, outdoors no less, after he was bitten by a tick. Schumer lived, but the tick died.
What will Lesnick do to top that one?
Hopefully they’ll just keep going. Thru jersey, maryland, virginia, and further points south, never to be seen again.
