More immigration fire for Rudy

August
21

Rudy Giuliani is again facing criticism for his record, while mayor of New York City, on the issue of immigration. This time it’s in a radio ad launched by rival GOP candidate Mitt Romney in New Hampshire.

The ad, entiteled “Exceptional,” highlights Romney’s plan to cut back federal funds from cities that adopt so-called sanctuary policies concerning illegal immigrants.  He has previously accused Giuliani of continuing such policies as mayor of New York.

“Immigration laws don’t work if they’re ignored,” says the announcer in the ad. “That’s the problem with cities like Newark, San Francisco and New York City that adopt sanctuary policies. Sanctuary cities become magnets that encourage illegal immigration and undermine secure borders.”

  3. Open your eyes

Open your eyes people, Mitt has a clue. Not a beltway guy, common sense that will bring back the USA and not a new Mexico.

Could it be a website obtaining photos of Rudy is on the way? (Besides a stack of Opposition Research?)

Photo’s of Rudy marching in the NY City Gay Pride Parade? (Same parade that NAMBLA marches in?)

Photo’s of Rudy on Anti-second Amendment, City Hall Press Conferences?

Rudy on a “Palm Card” (Along with Pataki & Pirro) for NARAL fundraising?

Photo’s of Rudy on the dais of Planned Parenthood and NARAL Annual Dinners?

Rudy dressed in DRAG at a New York Press Dinner?

This will go over like a “Lead Balloon” in Iowa, Carolina’s, for that matter the whole Bible Belt & Gun States….....No?

Rudy has a lot of problems and vulnerabilities. Whether he will manage to overcome them is not known at this point.

But can Romney or Thompson secure the nomination and win? I don’t think anyone knows at this point.

But Rudy might make it as a VP candidate, too. If that happened with Thomspon or Romney at the top of the ticket, it might work. We’ll see.

I think McCain is done —- and he should be done after his stance on Immigration and lining up with the likes of Ted Kennedy and the left wing of the Democratic party. It’s too late for him to have a change of heart on that one, at least in terms of bringing his presidential aspirations back to life.

  6. Reality Check

Bottom line is that in the current political zeitgeist, Giuliani is the only real threat to a Clinton bid. The Republican base had better realize that the fringe independents who bought their bill of goods in 04 have gotten wise.
