The gov’s state fair flap

August
21

Gov., Eliot Spitzer is causing a flap in Syracuse by being the first governor in almost two decades to miss the opening of the New York State Fair, the Associated Press reports.

Spitzer is on vacation with his family; the fair opens Thursday. He plans to make a stop there next week instead.

Assemblywoman Joan Christensen, D-Syracuse, said: “It’s the New York State Fair, for crying out loud. It gives recognition to the entire state and its residents. You gotta be there.”
