Former Tennessee Sen. Fred Thompson will finally jump into the GOP presidential race as an official candidate next week, The New York Times is reporting.

The paper says Thompson will release an announcement on his Web site next Thursday, then go on a tour of early primary states.

    You heard it here first…Fred Thompson was a senator
    of very little import..his wife is apparently running
    his campaign…never a good idea..and his professional
    consultants have been jumping ship in droves
    this campaign will fall flat…he will get conservative
    votes but at the expense of mccain and romney
    rudy still wins

    Yes. Fred looked a lot better a couple of months ago. He waited too long, and now the “buzz” around him seems to be fizzling out. But he could still be a VP selection.

    Don’t rule out Romney for the nomination. Rudy has a lot of issues, but he may get it, regardless.
