Some quality Spitzer time for Amicone

With his visit to a Yonkers elementary school this morning, Gov. Eliot Spitzer seemed to be throwing a helping hand to state Sen. Andrea Stewart-Cousins, who is already the subject of Republican attacks.
But the governor, perhaps inadvertently, also gave an assist to Yonkers Mayor Phil Amicone on the day before his GOP primary against former City Council President Vincenza Restiano.
Because Spitzer chose to visit a school in his city, Amicone got to be on the podium with the governor and, later on, be introduced to the media by Spitzer.
“Maybe I’m speaking now because when you’re an executive, you want to make sure other executives get their say at the microphone,” Spitzer said. “In any city or in any political entity, nothing happens, of course, without the executive’s participation. And so Mayor Amicone, it’s a pleasure to have you here as well.”
Amicone, who could barely contain his smile afterward, used his time at the podium to tout the accomplishments of Yonkers schools.
Amicone’s Democratic opponent, Councilman Dennis Robertson, attended the event at the school but was not given the chance to speak. He said he did not mind Amicone sharing the podium with Spitzer.
“The mayor is the mayor,” Robertson said. “Next year, I’ll be up on the podium.”

Amicone gets introduced and welcomed by Spitzer.
Robertson hangs out with Sammy Zherka of the Guardian
and John Spencer. That says it all.
Speaking of Spencer, he came out of Restiano’s closet—-
finally. He sent a last-minute letter slamming Amicone on “People For Restiano” stationery.
This shows how desperate they are. Spencer had to come
out of the closet at the last moment because the numbers
seem to show Amicone will win handily.
A letter from Spencer lambasting Amicone and praising
Restiano? Spencer is one of the most despised people in
Yonkers, and Republican primary voters know what’s going
on. It’s called “Spencer’s Revenge.” It will fail.
Restiano might just as well have obtained a letter
from Jack the Ripper for all the good a Spencer endorsement
will do her. It’s a major backfire, and a sure sign of
Restiano and Spencer’s 11th hour desperation.
tomorrow night the mayor will consolidate his
support by thrashing restiano…..robertson
is dreaming if he thinks he can ride the registration
into city hall
Zherka, the strip club owner whose very close relative is right now under Federal criminal indictment on serious charges relating to the Albanian mob, is backing Robertson to the hilt. They are associating together, too.
Zherka’s money might be going into Robertson ads, and it also might have been part of that money Restiano refuses to account for. Restiano also could have obtained all or some of that money from Spencer’s failed Senate campaign.
Restiano denied Spencer was controlling her, but the truth came out with his letter.
Last week, another of Yonkers’ most disliked individuals, the Spencer toady Liam McLaughlin, also sent around a letter condemning Amicone and praising Restiano. Like Spencer’s own letter, McLaughlin’s note will have the pposite effect of what he, Restiano and Spencer hoped for.
The last of Spencer’s band of pirates is Robertson, along with Robertson’s new best buddy —- Zherka the strip club owner and faux “publisher.” That is the same Zherka trying to “extract” millions from the Yonkers taxpayers.
No serious publisher would EVER sue the very taxpayers he supposedly wants to read his “paper.” That fact alone demonstrates Zherka and his “Guardian” are scams.
Can it get any better? Spitzer, Andrea the phantom Senator and Amicone at an east side school, the day before the Republican Primary.
If Phil had spent any time on the east side of town and not with his developer friends down at the waterfront he would understand that the people don’t like any of them.
I guess Phil doesn’t remember Pataki admitting that Yonkers needed more money also. Guess what, it never happened.
Can’t wait to see the expression on Mike’s face tomorrow evening.
Higher taxes, failing schools and higher crime. It hasn’t been a good four years. Thank goodness the reign of terror is almost over.
If you are talking about the widely despised Spencer’s attempt to return to power through Restiano or Robertson, you are correct. That reign of terror is almost over.
The Consultant believes Restiano will get 32-34 percent. I’d give her an outside shot at 35 percent—- maximum.
Republican primary voters in Yonkers are not stupid. They want no more of Restiano, or Spencer, or Jereis, or McLaughlin, or Spencer’s current wife What’s-Her-Name.
I’ve said all along my interest in this involves the corruption angle. It reeks from the Spencer crowd. And it also has attached itself to Spencer’s other flunky, Robertson, and to Robertson’s new pal Zherka.
THE ZHERKA ALLEGATION ETHAN NEEDS TO BE BACKED UP
IE WHO IS THE RELATIVE..WHERE IS THE CASE PENDING
WHAT IS THE NAME OF THE STRIP JOINT..IF YOU CAN
GET THAT INFORMATION IT WILL BE A HUGE STORY
AND JOHN SPENCER WHO BITTERLY COMPLAINED ABOUT THE USE
OF HIS NAME IN CONNECTION WITH THIS ELECTION HAS NOW
CONFIRMED THAT HE IS THE PUPPETEER BEHIND THE RESTAINO
EFFORT.JDUGING BY SPENCER’S POPULARITY I MAY HAVE TO ADJUST
THE NUMBER THAT RESTIANO GETS…...DOWN TO 30
Consultant,
I have had the nameof that very close Zherka relative for some time, but figured the JN might do a little work for a change. I posted that specific clue a few times, but to no avail. I was foolish to think the JN or even News 12 might rouse themselves from Slumberland.
Put “Ali Zherka” into Google, and read all about the pending Fed charges in the Southern District, dating to June of this year. Very recent. This involves drugs, the Albanian mob, and a crooked NYC cop. Ali Zherka is facing some heavy prison time if convicted.
There is more about Ali Zherka, and it relates in part
to one of the Guardian suits vs. Yonkers.
I also think there may be ties here to Sue’s Rendezvous in Mt. Vernon, the strip club and Zehy Jereis hangout. Angelo DiPietro, that topless club’s co-owner, was involved with the Albanian mob and is now doing about 40 years. He was convicted in the same Fed trial two years ago at which Mo Sanginiti testified about Jereis.
Sam Zherka’s own strip joint—or one of them anyway—is called The VIP Club. It’s on West 20th St. in the Chelsea section of Manhattan. He even runs ads for it in his “Guardian” rag. He also had a strip club in the east Bronx, which he may still own. And there may be others.
Dennis Robertson has become tight with Sam Zherka—- to the point of hanging around with him occasionally. That is a fact. And as you know, Zherka has been backing Robertson all the way…and also backing Restiano in the primary.
Zherka money, through one of his corporations or an associate, may have been funneled to Restiano’s campaign, and also perhaps to Robertson’s campaign. That remains to be determined. But it is a real possibility.
This is a big can of ugly worms.
Thanks for the elucidation….it will not remain
underwraps for long….If Mr. Zherka tries to funnel
money to robertson other than through normal channels
it will this time be discovered..
You will find Ali Zherka to be Sam Zherka’s brother.
You also will find that, about 11 years ago, Ali
and a female (his and Sam’s sister) sued Knicks’
basketball player Anthony Mason after an altercation
at Manhattan’s China Club. I won’t comment on
the “merits” of that suit.
Today, that same sister is one of the plaintiffs
in a Sammy Zherka-Guardian-backed suit vs. the
Yonkers taxpayers. Do we detect a pattern?
Those two current suits would seem be an attempt to
“extricate” money from the taxpayers of Yonkers.
Sammy Zerhka also wants Robertson or Restiano in as
Yonkers mayor for his own, other reasons. But this isn’t
the time or place for that particular info.
I Always thought that the lawsuit by the guardian was
almost machiavelian…I believed they sued another
municipality..I am not defending the taking of the boxes
I am suggesting that the guardian is in business to
make money by taking advantage of situations which
resemble 1st amendment claims and they do it at the
expense of the taxpayers who they know foot the bill
It’s somewhat like a “slip and fall” misuse of the First
Amendment, isn’t it?
And many might say it also resembles extortion.
