that is a ridiculous idea…you either itemize or you don’t
if you don’t itemize it means you do not have a lot of
other deductions and your income is probably not in excess
of 50m..so John Hall all by himself is going to modify the
tax code..let him solve the AMT first….before he starts
proposing adding deductions which are not revenue neutral
has he asked the office of accounting the net effect on
the deficit of allowing deductions of property taxes…
and what about people who do itemize but who are in the
AMT AND THEREFORE LOSE THEIR DEDUCTION…that is the
problem and hall needs to get a degree in business
and economics..

How many homeowner with mortages and who also pay
propety taxes don’t already itemize?

Seems to me Hall has been spending too much time
with David Crosby, if you get my reference.
