Giuliani at the NRA

September
21

Former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani told members of the National Rifle Association earlier today that the lawsuit he filed against gun manufacturers in 2000 “is not necessarily what is needed now.’’

The Republican presidential hopeful told NRA members to “not feel singled out.’’

“I was excessive in every way that I could think of in order to reduce crime,’’ Giuliani said. “I enforced the guns laws that existed strongly.”

Giuliani added, “That is not necessarily what is needed now. It certainly isn’t the interpretation that I think is the correct interpretation of the Second Amendment. So I would say that I didn’t anticipate the lawsuit would go in some of the directions it is going.’’

However, the general counsel for Beretta USA Corp., which is one of the defendants in the lawsuit, disagreed with the former mayor’s characterization of the lawsuit.

“In fact the lawsuit is exactly the same one he started at the beginning of his administration,’’ said Jeff Reh, Beretta’s general counsel. The case is scheduled to be argued today before the Second Circuit Court of Appeals, Reh said.

  1. Mr. Nemo

I met Rudy several times and was at his campaign head quarters with WM. Koppell when Rudy ran against Dinkings both times and was 3 feet from Rudy when he said lets support the new mayor when he lost the first election. REALLY A class act

Then I met him at a $1,000 a plate dinner (President Bush SR could not pronounce Rudy’s last name) and I invited 8 of
my friends to join me as I felt Rudy was great for NYC after seeing how incompetent Dinkings was and the crooks Dinkings put in positions to buy red leather couches etc.

Then Clinton became the whore monger of the White house and I saw how under the Clinton Regime of terror how many citizens were murdered by his attack dog Janet Shoot them up Reno who managed an out of court wrongful death action for killing a child and his mother and the family dog for good measure (Ruby Ridge)

Then Janet took more time to kill another 104 men women and Children then it took our troops to topple Saddam.

Janet had a way of attacking people who were no threat to the USA like the invasion of a home in Florida with fully automatic weapons meant for mass destruction under her control.

I never owned a gun UNTIL Hellery Clinton called NYC police murders and Janet was on her rampages that is when I said I better get a gun, but was not sure what type so I listened to Clinton and every time he called a gun an assault weapon thats the model I bought.

Ted Drive them one way Kennedy and his family so far took the lives of 4 women, that is 4 more then all of my assault firearms killed.

Mike Bloomberg didn’t bother to read the news papers as he was off saying keep guns out of NYC.. YET 2 of NYC finest went to NJ to do drug related crimes THEN Mayor Mike was spewing how guns coming into the city are causing crimes and his own police department had another “peace officer” go to Rhode Island and again drug related crimes were committed under the watchful eye of Mike.

Why doesn’t Mike post how many NYC officers of the law shoot innocent people just like HELLery Clinton said.

GUNS KILL the exact same way a fork made Rosie O’ Donnell a fat slob and the CAR made Ted Kennedy a murderer.

So instead of going to $1,000 a plate dinner, I will send the donation to the NRA as someone has to protect the rights of law abiding citizens to protect themselves from a country going to hell.

IF there was one legal gun owner on the planes the box cutters could not have killed so many people. WTC attack is a direct result of Chuck Schmuer saying “Better a plane goes down then arm the pilots” who most are ex military and know how to use a firearm to protect the passengers

ONE legal gun holder on the Long Island rail road would have stopped the Jamaican nut case from re loading THREE TIMES killing the poor folks who were not allowed to defend themselves.

Not everyone like Rosie O’ Donnell can afford to have an armed guard 24 -7 protecting her lard filled body

The press never talks about how a legal gun owner saves lives. Women working night shifts walking home from the sub way being attacked dial 911 and hope the police will get there… I wonder if Schmuer would let his daughter walk out at night like the nurses and others have to.WHY only the politicians and rich have a gun? Poor people should have the same rights

After all Chuck does carry a gun so does Feinstein its the little people who don’t have the same rights as these low lives

Mayor Mike Bloomberg will not stop private planes flying over NYC even after the terrorist attacks WHY ? Because this egotistical nut case has a plane and thus he will not give up his right to fly over a very populated area that is prone to air plane attacks BUT guns he is against.

I wonder how many people were murdered by planes in NYC as opposed legal guns owned by citizens not the killer police (Hillerys words not mine)to guns.

Let me tell you I was on the job and left early once Dinkings got in and gave his blessings to the Crown Heights murder of the Rabbinical student Yankel Rosenburg from Australia.

The upper command told us not to take any action as the brass called it “Black rage” and let them get it out of their system just like they did to the poor Korean grocer

22 years ON THE JOB I think Ive seen it all when I was told not to take any action.

The press never bothered to mention the looting going on in Queens as the “13” went down for the WTC

This mayor will never let facts get in the way of his spewing nonsense and many of the mayors that did join him read the fine print and left.

With Mayor Mike it is a control issue plane and Simple

At least Rudy would listen then make an informed decision

You hit the nail on the head with Ted Kennedy getting away with murder and how senator Kennedy of Rhode Island was escorted home as he was to stoned on drugs and drunk (Typical for New England senators)

Could you imagine if the people put on the ballot that all senators and congressmen/women were drug tested as they do work for us correct so we have a right to know how many are drunks / drug addicts and Bi polar leading the country.

Hillery would be my first to ask to give a urine sample followed by Kerry and the Kennedy clan and Feinstein a sobriety test

I don’t know what Waco means to you, but it taught me that I do not live in the home of the Free and the land of the Brave any more. You can take my guns from my cold dead hands Rudy! Oh, Oh, I’m most likely on the terrorist watch list now!

  4. the consultant

the second amendment refers to the right of militias
to defend themselves…individulas are not militias
and have no constitutional right to posess a weapon.
however most law abiding citizens can get weapons if
they apply for permits….but the idea that assault
weopons should be available to anyone is aburd..the
only purpose for an assualt weapon is to kill another
human being..that is why virtually evey police department
in the us supports the ban on assault weapons..this
has nothing to do with self protection, the right
to a carry permit or hunting or sports shooting

  5. Jim Kelly - Conservative Campaigns

By military definition, assault rifles are “selective firearms” (full auto-continuous, or burst fire plus auto-loading) of sub-caliber.”

However, these guns are already heavily regulated, restricted, heavily taxed, and require special licenses. Thus, the cry for restrictions on “assault weapons” has already been answered. In short, Assualt Weapons are not sold to the general public.

However, it has not silenced the gun-control crowd, who continue to attempt to expand the definition of assault rifle. (Scare Words)

The designation “semi-automatic” simply means that the gun loads a bullet in the chamber automatically, without the user having to take an extra step to do so. Thus, every time the user pulls the trigger, one shot is fired, and the next one is loaded. IE…Your Hunting, Target Rifles….

This is the expansion of law the Anti-2A’s want. They do it by confusion of words to the “City Dwellers”.

  6. the consultant

there is still no constitutional provision for anyone
not a member of a militia to posess any kind of weapon

  7. Jim Kelly - Conservative Campaigns

    Old High School stuff….

It all depends if one reads into the US Constitution as “Elastic” or “Inelastic”

    The Second Amendment:
A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

The Supreme Court could easily resolve this debate, but ever since the cryptic decision of U. S. vs. Miller in 1939

    If you remember…...

In 2007, the D. C. Court of Appeals, in Parker v District of Columbia, struck down a Washington, D.C. ban on individuals having handguns in their homes. With its 2 to 1 ruling, the D. C. Circuit became the nations second court of appeals (following the Fifth Circuit) in finding that the Second Amendment creates an individual right to own firearms. Other circuits courts have concluded the Second Amendment protects only the rights of states to maintain militias. The split in the circuits suggests that the time may finally be ripe for another Supreme Court decision on the issue.

  8. Jim Kelly - Conservative Campaigns

BTW..Other campaigns continue to tell me…..Trends are changing fast for the Conservative candidates.

Conservative NRA 2A’s gave Rudy respectful attention.

But…...Big thumbs down at the end of his speech. The same crowd that Al Gore admits to losing six to seven States on election night on 2A issues, has given Rudy a big thumbs down.

Remember Kerry toward the end of his election? Rifle and ducks for a photo op?

In short, If you lose the NRA. pro-lifers, traditional family rights groups etc…..You are through.

As I have said for the last six months, National Politics is different then NY State Politics…and for that matter much different then Liberal New York City GOPers.

  9. Jim Kelly - Conservative Campaigns

NRA has announced they are leaning on getting involved in the primaries…front-loading of the primaries, is the factor. They never did this before, they always waited for things to play out.

    By, By Rudy…Hello Conservative Candidates….

All Conservative Bases have advised the GOP of a major stay at home on election day by these groups.

Six to Seven States vote strictly on 2A Issues in GOP Primaries. But it is not like you have not heard this before right?

Other Social Interest groups are going to do the same.
Pro-life is another five States, Gay Marriage is another three States.
