Putnam clerk opposes Spitzer initiative

Putnam County Clerk Dennis Sant issued a press release minutes ago opposing a change in the state motor vehicle law proposed by Gov. Eliot Spitzer.
No longer requiring applicants for a state driver’s license to provide social security numbers or other proof of legal resident status would make Putnam County less secure, Sant said.
