GOP Starts Petition Drive

September
27

State GOP Chairman Joseph Mondello today announced an online petition at www.nygop.org/ where people can deride Gov. Eliot Spitzer’s plan to offer driver’s licenses to people who may be illegal immigrants.

“There has been a groundswell of opposition across the state to Governor Spitzer’s dangerous plan to give driver’s licenses to undocumented aliens,” Mondello said.

Spitzer proposal has received a remarkable amount of criticism and even some county clerks are expressing opposition, according to the Albany Times-Union.

Mayor Michael Bloomberg also came out against it.

RE: Can we STOP this Madness of the Drivers Licenses for Illegals which in reality is being used to UP enrollment of the Dems?

    Sure we can….
All we must do is look for the Convictions (LOL) of our “Republican & Conservative” State Senate to broker a deal with another unrelated chip that the Spitz crowd would want down the road….

GOP Senate should say…..”Hay Spitz, Kill this deal now or we Kill a deal down the road later that you might want….” This also known as politics in Albany…

On the much positive side, At least we see Senator Marty Golden fighting for our side of this issue on the TV networks, he has done a good job…...(Good for you Marty keep it up!)

Although I still would like to know why he and other GOP Senators were pushing for another tax increase of a least $2,000 a year on our Outer Borough Drivers called…..”Congestive Pricing” (Why??)

Finally, This is the one issue (Driver Licenses) that our bankrupt State GOP can use to drum up support Statewide to enhance their grass roots supporters, ALL of which have LEFT the County GOP Parties during the course of the last four years….

This is the “One shot” the State GOP can use to show the grass roots that they have “Finally” starting to take their heads out of their A**......

Even in doing this…....The GOP are still BIG SPENDERS IN ALBANY WHICH IS BANKRUPTING THE STATE.

(Perhaps another MTA, Bridge & Tunnel, Property or School Tax or going ahead with Congestive Pricing & Thruway Toll Increases is the answer for the GOP to continue spending?)

Spitzer’s plan is absurd. It’s good to see it
    is getting loads of criticism.

He has been a major disappointment so far. And no
one with a brain believes his story about “Troopergate.”

Jim Kelly is right. The state Republicans, as less-than-
inspiring as they are, can and should use this important
licenses issue as a rallying cry.

But first, someone must wake them up.

so where does “Do Nothing Cousins” stand on this issue? You blame the GOP for heavy spending maybe you need to re-
examin who are the top office holders at this point “ALL DEMS”! now there’s your big spenders.

    RE: Walter

Now they are Dems, but for 12 years they were GOPers (Pataki & the Senate).

Spending at double the rate of inflation and borrowing money hand over fist…floating State bonds to the highest levels ever.

When (Not if) But when Wall Street turns, we have big problems…a least to the Dems credit (Which I am no fan of) they are addressing that problem at least in conversation.

Where is Greg Ball when we need him. Here is a real issue Greg Ball can address and he is silent, maybe Greg does not want to get his friend Eliot made at him.

Come on Greg where are you, isn’t this the perfect issue for the anti immigration Assemblyman.

Lets see if Greg Ball shows his true colors.
