Former President Bill Clinton says Rudy Giuliani “has proved more durable than I thought he would” in the race for the Republican presidential nomination.
In an interview with Bloomberg Television that airs tonight at 11 on the program, “Political Capital with Al Hunt,” the former president also comments that Republican Sen. John McCain of Arizona is “an admirable human being” who “deserves to be a major candidate.”

After Hillaries promise to give every baby in america
a 5000 bond at birth. without any conditions like
the kid goes to college and the money gets applied
or even to a trade schooll,...nope just a straight out
gift..which means that people thinking about having
kids instead of limiting their families will now think
gee…10 times 5 is 50,000…lots of money to some
what a shitty idea
That Hillary idea is a disaster. It would cost
at least $20 billion per year.
Beyond that, if an illegal immigrant has
a baby the child is automatically a US citizen.
That law should be changed, but regardless,
think of all the illegals alone who would have
babies for that $5,000 bonus.
Hillary is being shown for what she is.
She is for a large, nanny-state form of
Federal government with all sorts of giveaways
and entitlements.
Guess where the money would come from? It would
come from huge tax increases.
This stupid move by Clinton, when coupled
with her other crazy ideas and flip-flops,
will cost her the election. She’ll lose by
two points. But that’s all it takes.
that would be if Rudy is the nominee..he seems to be
the only republican that can give her a run for her
money in the marginal states needed to capture
the presidency…florida.ohio,penn, cal,nj, mich
new mex…and from this vantage point it appears
that the other republcians particularly romney are
fading …even in new hampshire where Romney
was a neigborhood gov ie mass…rudy is one point
down….they even like rudy in south carolina….
but I fully agree..Hillary is letting her socialist
tendencies take over from each according to their
ability to each according to their needs..not
capitalism by any stretch
and on another subject..robertson was caught red
handed dealing with the guardian newspaper….accepting
political ads not paid for….he can squirm all he wants
an his campaign manager can protest about being
linked to spencer and restiano..but he is stuck with
them as the mantra for his revenge campaign..and he
needs to explain his relationship to the guardian

Correct re: Robertson. This Zherka connection
could be a death blow to him, and he was already
on life support. And I continue to maintain, as
I have for a long time, that Zherka also may be
the mystery man behind that Restiano money.
Robertson has been endorsed publicly by Restiano
on Cablevision, and also by Spencer on this very
blog in an item the day after the Primary. And
how can he keep his close buddy Liam McLaughlin
out of it? He can’t.
BTW, your comment on Newsmakers re: Robertson’s
GED was not “personal,” as Graham tried to protest.
That is professional and relevant as regards anyone
who thinks he can be mayor of the State’s fourth
largest city. Voters care about things like that.
Nationally, the Republicans have to rally around
someone because Hillary is beatable. Some of them
don’t like all of Rudy’s positions, but they like
Hillary’s a hell of a lot less.
I don’t count Romney out yet. Thompson seems
almost disinterested, but could hang on for
a VP slot. McCain? Doubtful.
personal..is if you say something about character,
family, habits, addictions..ie out of bounds stuff
educational backround is hardly personal…and it
was something that robertson himself disclosed in
his rambling confession to phil reisman…many
people don’t graduate high school and later pick
up GED”s some even go on to college and earn
a degree…that is not the case with dennis..so
his educational level is in play if he wants to
run a city with complicated financial and legal
issues…not to mention complicated development
issues…a budget combined with school spending
of 850,000..that is not a place for ojt..and
it is not the place for a guy who has a GED…
that is not a personal comment..but if george
bushes education is an issue in whether he is
qualified to be mayor…then dennis self confessed
lack of a formal education beyond his ged is
fair play…some may not like it..but that does
not mean it is not fair comment..along with other
relevant biographical accomplishments….
Lawrence of course was doing his job and that;s
fine..you should take a look at what somoeone
on the tribune said…clearly I hit a nerve in
the robertson camp..but I am not done…I will
pursue the guardian issue even if I have to
file the complaint myself..no newspaper
(including the new york times, which gave a
substantial discount to move on .org for thier
general “betray us” add) is exempt from the
campaign finance rules….and the guardian thinks
it can skirt those rules but Mr Zherka is allegedly
in league with robertson. (see the other posts
down the line) and clearly that coupled with
the spencer and restiano statement of support
are fair issues….I don;t know where the JN
is on this but come monday..they ought to be
taking a hard look at the back page of the
guardian and asking some hard questions

Certainly educational background matters,
especially if it’s only a GED, and the
position is mayor. If this was a ceremonial
mayor’s job in a village, it wouldn’t
matter so much. But Yonkers, with its size
and large budget and many complex issues, is
another story entirely.
The smearing of you also continues on the Tribune site.
That is being done by Robertson supporters.
Lawrence Graham should hold his nose defending
Robertson, or else just give it up. He diminishes
his own credibility by following the party line
in this instance.
But the good news seems to be that Zherka
and Robertson are now being exposed on the Tribune,
too. It started here, and obviously has been picked
up over there.
You or someone with the Amicone campaign should
file that complaint. Definitely. And maybe
it doesn’t seem important at this point, but it
is certain that the unaccounted-for Restiano money
also might have come from Zherka. To me, that
makes it important even though Restiano lost big-time.
The JN did a good job on a PAC today. Hopefully,
they will put the same diligence into a probe
of Zherka and Robertson.
Of course I am being bias against Rudy, as most of my friends are working the three of the other campaigns….But….I know them well, they don’t spin stories to me and they are most confidant:
Rasmussen Poll Reports: (Polls the GOP Primary Voters Only)
For the seven days ending September 23, 2007 show that Fred Thompson earns 26% of the vote while Rudy Giuliani attracts 22%. They are followed by John McCain at 14%, Mitt Romney at 12%, Mike Huckabee at 6%, and four other candidates who split 4% of the vote while 17% are undecided.
Thompson is still seen by Republican voters as the most conservative candidate in the field while Giuliani is seen as the most electable.
Thompson, who tossed his hat into the GOP ring two weeks ago, is at 26% – up 6 percentage points since Aug. 1 – while Giuliani has slipped a point to 32% over the same period, a new NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll showed last week.
Perhaps more worrisome for Giuliani, he is statistically tied with Thompson in South Carolina, and behind former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney in Iowa and New Hampshire – all key early primary states, a Los Angeles Times/Bloomberg poll found last week.

Social Conservatives are now awaking to Rudys stances via Pro-lifers, Traditional Family Values coalitions, and more importantly 2A people.
This is something that NY GOPers think little of, but then againt as I was taught long ago, “New York City Liberal GOP Dwellers” have NO value in National Politics.
GOP has been read the Riot act by Social Conservatives.
52% of the Early States voters still do not know the past record of Rudy on social issues…The game plan by the Conservative candidates is (And it is now being reflected in all the polls of those early states) is to let the voters know the past words of Rudy.
Thus the reflection of the latest polls numbers given are showing that the campaigns are just now getting the words of Rudy out to voters.
The NRA for the first time….has a press release this week advising that they are getting into the involvement of the primaries…..meaning six states are now in play….RUDY IS NOW IN PANIC MODE BIG TIME as one told me.

The NRA WON six to seven states for GW Bush…..Pro-Lifers won \three to four states and Traditional Family Rights (Gay Rights Issues) won another two to three states…Dr. Jay and others….are you getting the picture yet?
Does anyone remember John Kerry in the last week of his close Campaign with Bush walking out of the woods with his hunting gear, rifle and his friend carry geese for him? RE: Kerry need the NRA States to beat Bush…But that photo-op failed big time. The 2A people saw through that BS.
Finally, NRA is 4-5 million VOTERS…...THEY HAVE LOTS OF MONEY AND THEY SPEND IT ON COMMERCIALS.

This is Exactaly….What I was explaining to all readers in my prior post about National Politics being different then New York City politics.
This is just the “Start” of the GOP fights that are on the horizon…..
Other campaigns clearly told me that this story was on arrival.
It was also hinted to me, that if Rudy support does not leave the race that the worst can be on the way for the GOP….
IE….Boycotts of the GOP Conventions, Third Party Candidates will emerge, Fundraising will be affected by the tens of millions…(No Rockefeller Republicans or walk)
“Fighting for the Heart & Soul of the Republican Party” Happens every twenty years or so.
Today’s New York Times Story:
“A coalition of influential Christian conservatives is threatening to back a third-party candidate.
The threat emerged from a group that broke away for separate discussions at a meeting Saturday in Salt Lake City of the Council for National Policy, a secretive conservative networking group. Participants said the smaller group included James C. Dobson of Focus on the Family, who is perhaps its most influential member; Tony Perkins of the Family Research Council; Richard A. Viguerie, the direct-mail pioneer; and dozens of other politically oriented conservative Christians.
Almost everyone present at the smaller group’s meeting expressed support for a written resolution stating that “if the Republican Party nominates a pro-abortion candidate we will consider running a third-party candidate,� participants said.

Dear Mr. Conservative..you have only one decision to make
and its not whether the republican nomineee is in lock step
with you over your social issues..it is simply whether or
not you want hillary as president….
ethan…news 12 has got the guardian story..the ad on
the back is the end of the robertson campaign..it is
a clear link to zherka spencer and restiano…as
well as mccloughlin..you would have thought that
as the candidate dennis would have realized that he
could not accept an in kind contribution from
a corporation like the guardian..but he is
unaware of the rules…

Please understand that “National Politics” is much different then “Down State New York Politics”....
I went through this in my prior post in the posts.
You need everybody to get the vote out for those States that make up the electoral college of each and every state.
If this was a New York State race I would agree with you.
But it is not….Think of the GOP Party as a “Life Boat”...we must keep all inside this boat, if we throw our groups over board, many do not come to the polls on election day.
IE…..Traditional Family Values (2 States), Pro-life (2-3 States) 2A (6-7 States)
All of which GW Bush, John Kerry & Al Gore admit won the past elections for the GOP during Bush’s last two terms. As my post above shows (& I explained last week), the riot act clearly has been read to the GOP Leadership.
Which way they go? Not sure yet…..I would think they would want the White House and strong line votes to bring other candidates into position. The GOP wants NO problems in accomplishing that.

News 12 also should be made aware that there
was another unsponsored Robertson ad, full page, on
the inside of the Guardian the week before.
The most recent one, as you know, was the
full back page.
So it’s not just “one mistake.” And we both
know it wasn’t a mistake at all. He is aware
of the rules. He just chose to ignore them.
Zherka, Restiano, Spencer and McLaughlin?
Why is that not a suprise?
If News 12 gives this story the attention it deserves,
we can rightfully feel that we started exposing this
meaningful issue right here on this blog.
News 12 also should not be timid about
exposing Sam Zherka’s profession as a
strip club owner, and the fact that his
brother Ali has been indicted by US Attorney
Garcia’s office as a member of the Albanian mob.
I saw the TV report. It did open the can
of worms, and got some of the worms out.
But not all of them. There is more that
can be done. But it was a decent start.
