Davis files campaign complaint

Mayor Ernest Davis has sent a letter to the Westchester County Fair Campaign Practices Committee alleging that his opponent County Legislator Clinton Young has used county resources in his mayoral campaign.
Young said he welcomes the committee and anyone else to look into the complaints and he called the move “pure petty politics.”
However, as it turns out the committee considers notice to the press about filed complaints an unfair campaign practice in itself.
The committee review complaints to determine whether a hearing is warranted or any action should be taken. If a complaint does merit a hearing the committee issues its findings on whether the action was an unfair campaign practice.

Dear Ms. Jaffe,
With only five weeks left before the people of Mount Vernon select their next Mayor they must have the utmost assurance that those seeking the City’s highest elective office have not used government resources to further their political ambitions.
It is has been alleged that Clinton Young has abused his authority as the Co-Chairman of the County Board of Legislators by using Westchester County resources to conduct his campaign for Mount Vernon Mayor. Mr. Young has been accused of using the Board of Legislators conference rooms to hold campaign staff and planning meetings during the months of March, April and May of 2007.
Many of Mr. Young’s Mayoral Campaign workers are employees of the County Board. For fear of retribution it has been reported anonymously that on at least 2 different occasions that Mr. Young interviewed political consultants in the Legislative conference room. He also conducted a full scale campaign staff meeting with his campaign workers and the consultant to review the consultant’s proposal for his campaign and determine if the consultant would be retained. The Board’s photo copier was also used to make copies for distribution at this meeting.
Mr. Young was fully aware of the impropriety of this meeting. He told those in attendance to say that the purpose of the meeting was to discuss summer internship programs. Lying for the sake of attaining power is unacceptable. It is a portent of what to expect should Mr. Young become the Mayor of Mount Vernon.
The people of Mount Vernon must know that their Mayor will be straightforward. They should get truthfulness at all times from the person who wants to be Mayor is asking for their trust. This is a scared obligation that we owe to the people.
I ask that you look into these allegations because good government is not possible where there is a lack of trust.

A desperate man will do desperate things. It is no longer his team is jumping ship. He is going down hard and very fast.
Talk about honest! Two Questions for Mr. Davis:
How much property tax is all the development on Sanford Blvd and elsewhere in the city paying?
Where is the 1.7 million dollars missing from Urban Renewal?
So Mr. Davis – intimidating your employees by calling them to your office to assure their vote for you in the weeks leading up to the campaign is not abuse of power or government resources?
What about all of the unfair campaign practices your team used on primary day? And there was no one that works for the City of Mount Vernon volunteering on your campaign?
If I am not mistaken doesn’t Mr. Young have a campaign office with a birds’ eye view of City Hall. I am sure he has all of the resources he needs right there including a DEDICATED CAMPAIGN STAFF that do not jump ship at the turn of a hat!
Gimme a break – stop whining and move on!
Can’t we all just play nice? Dirty tactics is what made you lose the Primary! Don’t worry about miscellaneous things. Focus on your campaign and yeah what happen to your honesty? You did say you would support the democrat nominee. All this mud slinging he said he said is not gonna work. Listen to what the people have to say!

This statement comes from a man who has lied about so many things:
The NAACP Debate he was asked by the moderator about the Urban Renewal Agency (URA) and the missing 2.9 million dollars. Davis’ response was, “I have nothing to do with the URA”. That’s funny, I thought he was the chairman of the URA.
He was asked on live television during the News12 debate and again by the Journal News if he would support the winner of the democratic primary. he said yes. Now he is running as a conservative.
What a joke Davis is.
To the Young supporters, it appears that you guys can’t take what you have been putting out for the past few months.
Hold on because Mayor Davis is about to show you how much of a skill person he is.

You go Mayor Davis. Nov. 6th, is your victory.
City Hall employees are Democratic District Leaders or family thereof and have been afraid of losing their jobs or lese. Who won’t?
Lisa Copeland is also concerned with her job, she does not care about the city or its residents – no wonders she hangs out with Mayor Davis. She is not appointed by the Mayor – she is appointed by the City Council and ALL the council members are supporting Clinton Young. She does not know how to bow out gracefully – she lost the nomination of her party a couple of years ago and is still angry at Reginald Lafayette.
Mr. Davis – you have chosen to continue to divide the city instead of uniting – do you really cre about the City – don’t think so – its all about YOU.
Please do the decent thing to do – leave the election alone, let the residents decide their future, you hanging out with Nick Spano and that guy from the independence party – you really care about the city???????????
I agree with almost all of you guys. Davis is so desperate cause he lost and he will do anything to get what he wants. Even lying. Davis is ridiculous and stupid and probably high off of that weed. Davis said Lying for the sake of attaining power is unacceptable so can I ask him why have he been doing that since he been on board. Starting with the threats that Clinton and some of his associates has experienced. I worked Clinton campaign and I’m telling you Clinton never ever never ever held a meeting in the legislators conference room. Davis you are so pathetic and I pray for you cause you are so corrupt that you dont even see it. One of your supporters said Hold on because Mayor Davis is about to show you how much of a skill person he is (Robert). That statement says a lot about Davis and the stupid idiot who wrote it. It tells you that Davis will do anything and the keyword is anything to win this election and I feel the Clinton Young campaign should feel threatened cause Davis already proved what he could and would do and it will be worst this time cause he’s desperate and this is the last chance for him to get in. Even the disrespect he showed towards Clinton’s mother by having someone tomatoe her home. This is a 85 year old woman who dont deserve to mistreated cause she is supporting her son during his campaign. Davis supporters started fights and everything on primary day. Davis supporters showed their butts off on Teusday when he had that conference and dinner. They shouted out Clinton Young supporters and made it clear that we werent allowed or invited. We are still Democrats and Davis is still our mayor so we should be able to come to any event he has. Davis supporters comes to our campaign meetings and our fundraisers incognito. We know who they are but they dont know that we know who they are and they are treating nicely. At our campaign headquarters we practice love and acceptance. We accept anyone without a complaint. We dont preach hate at all. Davis campaign preaches hate. During the primary day one of Davis workers came up to me and ask me why are we like this and I replied what do you mean and she said I put it to you like this I’m not voting for neither candidate she said but I have bills that need to be paid and that’s the only reason I’m in this. She said Davis pays well and then she said all of this hostility we share amongst each other. She said you wasnt going to speak to me once you seen that I had on a Davis shirt and I responded to her by saying I have no problem with you or any of Davis supporters but the rolling of the eyes and the smart remarks I received so many from Davis supporters so I rather not say anything at all cause it keeps down confusion. She understood and said everyone is not like that and she said keep hope alive. All I say is Davis you claimed you was going to support Clinton Young if you lost and look at you, now you are running under another line you are disgusting. Like I said before, you stand for nothing and that’s why so many people want you out. Dont use us to make up money you lost. This campaign is about you and no one else only you. It’s suppose to be about the community I thought.
I hear a Yonkers political family is helping Davis’ run on the Conservative Line. Wake up people…this is bad news. Once we allow this criminal in Mount Vernon we’re all in trouble. This kind of bogus nonsense is similar to a former senator calling Black males working for another democrat in Yonkers thugs. Ernie has lost his mind…and making deals with the devil, which will leave the people of mount vernon is hell.
